Designing and building a new home can pose many different questions and raise concerns or queries. Our architectural designer is approachable and knowledgeable with experience in all types of designs. We are here to help guide you through this process and custom design your dream home or life-changing house renovation.
The process starts with an obligation-free, no-cost meeting with our building designer and then follows the procedure below:
Our architectural designer will sit down with you and discuss your initial ideas. We will help tailor your home to suit your needs and to compliment the surrounding environment of your block. Prior to starting your design we will require:
Developer approval guidelines and covenants are set by the developer of an estate to ensure every home has a consistent look and feel. The guidelines vary from estate to estate but can affect your materials and finishes, façade appearance, house size, landscaping, fencing, etc. If specific directives apply to your block, our designer will design within these measures to ensure approval is granted.
A soil report is a report based on a series of soil samples taken from your block. The report will determine a soil classification which is used by our engineers to design the appropriate footing system for your home.
Our build times are around 12-16 weeks. The time it takes to build your house will depend on the size of your home. We endeavour to make the build process as seamless as possible and a quick as possible.
Once the build is complete we will apply to the Local Council to get an occupancy certificate. We will also complete a walk through with you to determine if there are any defects to be fixed. A practical completion form will then be signed and a handover pack issued to you along with the keys for you to move in!
Our friendly team are always willing to answer any questions you may have regarding your insurance claim and the repairs. Your allocated Repair Coordinator can assist with inquiries on the process, and our experienced supervisors can keep you informed throughout the repair work phase.
Once the insurance company has granted approval for us to proceed, we will commence scheduling the repairs when the scope of works has been signed, and payment of the insurance excess has been received.
Yes. Repairs will commence once the excess has been paid and documentation signed. You can pay the excess via credit card, direct debit or cheque. You can pay your excess through our website here.
Our supervisors are friendly and knowledgeable; they are happy to assist if you would like to make any additions/amendments to the scope of works. Please contact them at the start of repairs if you would like additional work performed. You may need to discuss changes to the scope of works with your insurer.

Ben Campbell Building Group conducts checks on our trade database. This gives reassurance that trades attending to your home are suitably qualified to perform the work required.
Ben Campbell Building Group has a vast range of trades across a wide variety of regions. Wherever possible we use local trades to ensure we complete your repairs promptly and efficiently.
A renovation begins with ideas, seeing things you like and gathering pictures of ideas that you love! Then give us a call to set up an obligation free quote. At BCBG we have a designer and drafts person who can meet with you on site to discuss these ideas and measure up the existing structure. We can give you expert advise on what will be your best options and what will be achievable. These ideas can then be drawn up in to a comprehensive set of architectural plans.
The length of the renovation will depend on the type of renovation. It could be a few weeks to a few months. We always work efficiently to ensure there are minimal time delays. Once we have a plan we can let you know an exact time frame for the work to be completed.
This again depends on the type of renovation being completed. An area that is being worked on, particularly bathrooms and kitchens will be out of action for a time while works are being carried out. For large scale renovations we recommend that you do stay elsewhere during the renovation. This will ensure there is little disruption and safety for all.
Remodelling is a broad term used to describe any kind of change to an existing house. This requires excellent planning and communication between the owner, designer/drafts person, and contractors. We have the expertise to help you remodel your home.
No. Our supervisors are experts at this! They will organise all of the trades required for your renovation and and have them there promptly when required. Your Supervisor will keep you informed throughout the renovation. Our friendly admin staff will also keep you informed and communicate regularly with you.
We can provide all of the appliances in your quote. Everything required in your plan to complete the renovation will be included in your quote. We have our standard inclusions, if you wish to choose something different this will be priced accordingly.
You can choose from a range of finishes and materials. The type of finishes you select will dertermine the price of your renovation which will be itemised. For example should you wish to choose Laminex or Stone benchtop in your kitchen, this will alter the price. If there is something like a pendant light that you would like to include, we can source this for you or you may be able to purchase yourself and we arrange the installation. Our designer can provide 3D images and walk you through the entire interior design to give you the ultimate visualisation of the finished renovation, this will include all of the colours and finishes you have chosen.
